Position Summary:Manages and coordinates all IS activities required to perform intake and support for the Facilities Projects managed by the Capital Planning Department as well as other facilities projects requested by our other company partners. Collaborates with other I.S. departments (Networking, Telecom, Desktop, Applications, Operations) and other company departments, especially Capital Planning, to ensure that the goals, tasks and timelines of each project are coordinated across all departments.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Manages and coordinates all IS activities required to support the Facilities Projects assigned.
  • Establishes budgets, managing the financial aspects of the project.
  • Involves, coordinates and schedules all IS towers, including Desktop, Telecom, Network, System Administration and any applications teams needed for testing and integration.
  • Coordinates and schedules with other groups including Facilities, furniture and moving companies.
  • Collaborates with other I.S. departments (Networking, Telecom, Desktop, Applications, Operations) and other company departments, especially Capital Planning, to ensure that the goals, tasks and timelines of each project are coordinated across all departments.
  • Contributes to the department’s overall performance in the delivery of Adds, Moves & Changes which meets the business and clinical information systems needs of the company integrated delivery system.
  • Manages the receipt and processing of project demands from the Capital Planning team. This includes receiving project requests, understanding the scope and schedule requested, creating an IS Demand in the PPM tool and shepherding that demand through the estimation, project resourcing and scheduling process.
  • Forecasts and determines the need for resource and conducts recruiting for new staff when needed.
  • Manages the assignment and allocation of staff resources to assigned projects.
  • Prepares and presents staffing resource projections, where required, on individual project basis or for entire assigned group.
  • Collaborates with clients, I.S. and supervised staff to define and develop staff development and training programs/goals, adhering to operating and/or project budget constraints as appropriate.
  • Ensures the effective analysis and identification of relevant information system needs for assigned clients/client groups.
  • Provides effective project management of all activities to deliver services to meet those needs.
  • Simultaneously manages multiple complex tasks, prioritization of requests, completion of detailed work plans, appropriate delineation and assignments of tasks and assuring and coordinating appropriate resources.
  • Develops and executes project plans, budgets and realistic schedules, project performance standards, and timely status reports.
  • Informs the Senior Director of any problematic variances in project schedules, budgets, or other performance problems and recommends appropriate solutions.
  • Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
  • Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations. and similar actions.
  • Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities.
  • Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission, the Department of Public Health, etc. Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ensures adequate equipment and supplies for department.
  • Develops and maintains established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Ensures compliance to all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.

Position Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field and six to eight years of infrastructure, network and systems management experience.
  • Excellent project management and communications skills required.
  • Previous team management highly desired.
  • Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
  • Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies, and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.
