Northern Spy is a local, New England family restaurant in Canton, MA. We are professional, supportive, customer-centric and our goal is to showcase local artisans while providing classic New England fare amidst an excellent dining experience.
Our restaurant is looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our team. This professional will help to provide a top-quality menu by working alongside while leading and training a dedicated team, ensuring that our kitchen staff meets quality control standards, and coordinating food service with other departments. You’ll get to cook on an open wood-fired hearth and our Athanor cooking suite. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative professional to grow their culinary skills as they work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef-Owner to develop high-quality dishes with local ingredients. Northern Spy is a scratch kitchen where meat and fish are butchered in house. Get your hands on some of the best product in the boston area while becoming an integral part of a growing team. Weekend availability for all candidates is highly encouraged.
Responsibilities:
Test food for quality and taste.
Cook on station several nights per week.
Manage the staff of kitchen workers.
Manage the quality of food in the kitchen.
Order food and supplies, maintaining proper inventory.
