Job Description

Scope of Position

Lead day-to-day operation for Ocean Exports, drive efficiencies and implement process improvements. Serve as an escalation contact for internal and external issues and as a mentor to the team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities – As contained in the Export

Operational Process Standards Manual:

· Own communication and collaboration between office and warehouse teams

· Learn and lead day operations process

· Own workflow as measured by

· Manage processing milestones for both operations and warehouse (air and ocean)

· Develop consistent processes for new accounts

· Oversee and manage staff for export operation

· Strategize on efficient processes to improve freight transfer truck departure times

· Train peers as needed

· Quoting

· Transition and onboarding of new business

· Oversee all GBO initiatives

· Oversee operation according to OPA standard and prepare for assessment

· Any other function deemed necessary by Manager

· Mentor team and develop up & comers

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or 4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Minimum 1 year industry experience

· Knowledge in DG/Hazmat

· Ability to define, develop and document business processes and procedures

· Effective interpersonal skills – ability to relate to customers and internal employees at all levels

· Previous experience with word processing, spreadsheet, Windows, Email, various PC-based software

· Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods (50% of the time)
