Job Description

The Senior Plumbing Engineer has a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of documents through all projectphases, sizes, and levels of complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and managing the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectation and project goals. Furthermore, the successful individual shall be able to act as the Plumbing point-of-contact for clients, other disciplines, and pre-con services, complete a complex project code analysis, plan and prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables (including details and specifications), and understand the technical and design aspects of CRB’s market areas
  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects with little oversight required
  • Lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports
  • Conduct quality checking of documents for intermediate complex projects, e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality required
  • Provide mentorship to discipline Plumbing Engineer I and II and/or Designer I and II
  • Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from Senior Engineer
  • Lead a team of Plumbing staff in the execution of advanced projects discipline design and engineering
  • Develop intermediate internal Plumbing design and engineering training presentations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Plumbing Engineering (alternatively, a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with Plumbing Option)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience required for Lead position, preferably in a design firm setting
  • Professional Registration (Licensure))

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficiency AutoCAD and Revit required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Proficiency in discipline specific software required
  • LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited professional preferred
  • Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing plumbing sanitary waste drainage, venting, storm water, service piping, specialty waste, and specialty service designs required
  • Advanced experience with the Plumbing/mechanical/fire code, generically stated required
  • Intermediate experience with other applicable industry standards required
  • Intermediate experience with applicable building codes required
  • Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting required
  • Proficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination required
  • Proficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers required
  • Proficient at advanced plumbing fixture & drainage unit calculations, storm water, reclaim water design calculations with limited supervision required
  • Proficient at intermediate specialty waste and service design calculations with limited supervision.
  • Intermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with Plumbing systems
