POST ACUTE CARE BILLING SPECIALISTPosition Summary: This position is responsible for working Pending Medicaid Applications and redeterminations in order to ensure financial eligibility for dates of service needed to secure a valid Medicaid payer status for all Covenant Facilities. Work closely with outsourced applications and attorney referral when necessary.Responsibilities include:

Management of Medical Assistance application process

Re-determinations processing including processing of all appropriate forms applicable to that State policy in conjunction with the facility Business Office

Meet with residents/responsible party upon admission and at time of payer change to LTC

Monitor daily census for admissions and changes in a residents stay at the facility

Monitor and document the progress of the pending Medicaid cases and re-determinations in the PCC Collection Module

Follow up with LTSS on status of cases

Communicate timely with facility and corporate RCM team with barriers and red flag cases

Report any potential problem cases or non-compliance by resident/responsible party

Participate in monthly AR reviews

Respond to case discontinuation and/or denials by determining the appropriate action required which may include; appeal, reapplication or acceptance

Process referral to outsource applications as needed

Initiate prompt attorney action when necessary; including the need for conservator, and work closely with the attorney’s office

Perform all other duties or projects as assigned by Manager
