Job Description

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the plastic extrusion process.

  • Follow process procedures or instructions from Team Leaders.

  • Actively and constructively partner with line inspectors and line packers to ensure quality and productivity goals are met on each shift.

  • Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.

  • Set-up machines require a high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.

  • Load raw materials, determine and manage machine controls and unload finished products.

  • Perform routine tests and check products for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices.

  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.

  • Document and escalate any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment.

  • Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.

  • Order lengths may be of short, medium or long duration requiring frequent change in set up and variation in cycle, adjusts set up and process operations accordingly.

  • Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste or rework in the process.

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in extrusion and/or injection molding

  • Possess or acquire within specified timing any licensures necessary to perform job.

  • Adaptive, flexible, self-directed and able to handle ambiguity.

  • Be able to actively contribute in a team based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills.

  • Demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.

  • Strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instruction.

  • Able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
