Come soar with us.At our Peabody, MA, MRO facility, we specialize in the repair and special processing of turbine (hot section) jet engine hardware, including the creation of materials for thermal barrier coating (TBC). This team member will act as a Quality Engineer and will be a part of a team of engineers to innovate, develop and implement technologies to support these repair processes. This engineer will partner with other engineers to ensure that all quality and compliance standards are being met across the facility (AS9100, FAR145), while also partnering with the manufacturing engineering and operations teams to ensure processes and products are manufactured to the required quality standards, with a robust process control.In this role, you will learn hands-on engineering and will help you develop the necessary skills to continue to contribute after graduation, particularly in the aerospace, industrial, or mechanical or material science engineering fields. This role is for a summer intern (May – August).Primary Responsibilities
Learn about application, development, modification, and maintaining quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products.
Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
Understanding about Identifying and managing risk in product development primarily utilizing and driving UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).
Participate with developing proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
