The Strategy and Planning group within National IT has an immediate opening for a Resource Planning Advisor - Advanced, reporting to the Senior Manager for People and Resource Management.

The Advisor - Advanced will provide research and analysis of data and problems of varying complexity to develop recommendations and coordinate the administration of people management, staffing plans, work allocation, and resource plans. The Advisor - Advanced will provide consultation to business partners, cross functional teams, and senior management. The IT Advisor - Advanced will drive team performance across one or more related areas that perform planning, analysis, reporting, and establishing policies and processes for effectively managing IT investments, resources, people, service design, support, and contingency. The IT Advisor - Advanced will facilitate the implementation of department people and resource plans. This Advanced level position requires an experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices, planning, planning lifecycle, and resource management. The Advanced level position requires a high level of experience and proficiency in planning, analysis, and capacity management.

What You Will Do:
  • Performs complex analysis of major business issues and proactively searches for and recommends sustainable solutions utilizing established methodology and tools to coordinate staffing plans, resource plans, and inform budget activities.
  • Works with business partners to assess current capabilities, identify the high-level customer needs and recommends business process improvements and sustainable solutions across Information Technology teams.
  • Proactively reviews, compiles and analyzes detailed data for major business issues. Provides guidance and collaboration in completing analysis, information or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related areas. May evaluate root cause and effect into staffing solutions.
  • Leads process improvement and solution discussions and presents outcomes in written and verbal format to senior management.
  • Develops and designs new business processes of a major and critical nature and the elaboration and updating of existing business processes.
  • Key participant in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects across IT teams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 5 to 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and plan effectively, including initiative and foresight to anticipate the evolving needs of the National IT, particularly with respect to the planning, resourcing and evaluation lifecycle
  • Natural curiosity and excellent business acumen with the ability to see the big picture and connect the dots between the external environment, strategic priorities, and resource plans, leveraging information from various sources and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and translation skills, with demonstrated ability to quickly gather, analyze and synthesize information, and use it to enrich a topic, prove/disprove a hypothesis or otherwise articulate a point
  • Lateral thinking and creativity to scope a business problem (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis) and develop multiple, innovative viable methodologies and actionable recommendations for solving it
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to synthesize "the story" and articulate business tradeoffs for executive-level audiences and adjust messages and style based on different audiences and agendas
