This position is responsible for providing information security guidance and contributing top level technical expertise for all phases of analysis, design, development, and implementation for enterprise-wide technology initiatives The security engineer is expected to evaluate various technical solutions, make recommendations, and assist with the development and implementation of solutions from an information security perspective This position also provides system level consulting support and guidance on Federal Reserve System on System technology initiatives as they related to local information security operations/mission, and is knowledgeable in the principal technologies of the department's mission.This position is responsible for providing information security guidance and contributing top level technical expertise for all phases of analysis, design, development, and implementation for enterprise-wide technology initiatives The security engineer is expected to evaluate various technical solutions, make recommendations, and assist with the development and implementation of solutions from an information security perspective This position also provides system level consulting support and guidance on Federal Reserve System on System technology initiatives as they related to local information security operations/mission, and is knowledgeable in the principal technologies of the department's mission.What You Will Do:- Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain security features across complex cybersecurity and cloud systems.
- Participate in evaluating secure design strategies to identify and recommend improvements to potential security design problems.
- Analyze and recommend changes to existing system logic and documentation as necessary.
- Recommend solutions to minimize and/or prevent system interruption.
- Perform change and problem management using standard tools while conforming and complying with existing system standards. Measure performance to ensure proper operation.
- Follow and ensure adherence to secure technical standards for programming and design techniques, and train other technical staff on use of software/hardware tools in accordance with required standards and procedures.
- Help improve operational resiliency and efficiency through automation.
- Be self-organizing and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams leveraging agile development practices.
- Provide technical support both across departments and applications including rotational or on-call support.
- Responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making and contributing to their function`s risk management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience, including hands-on experience with public, private or hybrid cloud services (Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.).
- 2-3 years of information security experience.
- Security+, CCSK, GIAC GCLD, GIAC GCSA, or GIAC GPCS desirable.
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or AWS Cloud certification desirable.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (general programming languages).
- Experience at integration of various tools into DevOps pipeline.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts like to IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and shared responsibility model.
- Familiarity with implementing security standards across the enterprise.
- Familiarity with product management and agile methodology.
