Description We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting within the higher education sector. This role will be responsible for assisting with key functions within the finance department and will report directly to the Director of Finance.Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements and reports.
Managing and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Assisting with annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
Leading year-end audit process and liaising with external auditors.
Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.
Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Assisting with special projects as directed by management team.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA will be considered a plus.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the higher education sector.
Proficient knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and budgeting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
Experience with accounting software and databases. Knowledge of a higher education ERP system is a plus.
