Senior Claims Adjuster, Commercial Risk Solutions As the Senior Claims Adjuster, you will have the opportunity to provide prompt service to the client/insured in the investigation and disposition of assigned claims; conducts field investigations in order to determine compensability; evaluate, settle/resolve, or deny claim in equitable manner. This role is virtual with flexibility to sit in the Boston, MA area. Receives claim direction from the Director of WC Claims and determines causal relation/compensability coverage through either telephone or field investigation.

Documents all correspondence, reports, discussions, and decisions within claim file notes. Complete timely review of mail, medical bills and other correspondence.

Processes medical/indemnity payments within established guidelines and statutory requirements or denials where no causal connection exists.

Maintains and monitors all open claims utilizing appropriate diary management system.

Utilizes and follows managed care and state guidelines.

Responsible for setting appropriate reserves within adjuster’s authority in accordance with Aon/client guidelines. Responsible for timely completion and submission of the reserve analysis worksheet and full formal report.

Utilize Department and client servicing requirements as outlined in the Workers’ Compensation Procedure Manual.

Provides initial instructions to approved defense firms, directs and closely monitors future act

Performs other related duties as assigned by manager.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by related ability to read and interpret industry manuals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence with minimal revision. Ability to present information and respond to inquiries form claimants, insureds, attorneys and other agencies.

Ability to analyze and calculate figures such as temporary total disability rate, temporary partial, cost of living adjustments, and permanent partial disability rewards.

Valid driving license required

Education: Bachelor’s degree or at least three-five years’ experience in workers’ compensation claims handling or relevant business experience preferred

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $98,000 to $101,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Boston, MA. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
