You should know questions, such as the standard data structures or models and their usage, dimensional data, data cubes, or the difference between a data warehouse and a data mart. About the roleWe are seeking a Senior Data Architect who will establish the Data Engineering foundations and will lead the charge on the continuous improvement, monitoring and design of the storage solutions and data architecture . This individual must be highly organized with the ability to stay on top of multiple projects, teams and deliverables across a range of storage and architecture implementations and sizes, ranging from 10GB to 10+TB databases and other stores. The applicant must have willingness and ability to adapt to changing internal and external priorities, while working in a NIST compliant environment.You will be responsible for enhancing monitoring for existing databases, creating capacity and resource plans, for recommending new options and technologies, and for enhancing and tuning existing databases. You will also be responsible for developing and tuning complex queries, and providing coaching to the broader development team on best practices and industry-standard approaches to data and database access. Additionally, you will be responsible for data architecture and design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and design our Data using the industry best practices data architecture and design principles.
  • Develop high performance storage solutions across several database publishers
  • Work with application architecture, product manager and other stakeholders to create next-generation data stack and data services offerings
  • Plan, develop and maintain big data (>10TB) storage solutions across multiple database types
  • Develop storage monitoring and maintenance program for existing solutions
  • Ensure compliance requirements for storage of customer data across national boundaries
  • Participate in solutions architecture during development and delivery cycle
  • Monitor industry trends, and work with R&D to pilot new technologies
  • Create, maintain, monitor data pipelines, data collection, storage, and data retrieval processes

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure
  • Proven track record of success with big data projects
  • Expert understanding of SQL dialects (T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc)
  • Experience with multiple storage patterns and techniques (queuing, streaming, data fabric/lake/house/mesh)
  • Demonstrated understanding of data engineering principles from storage to data access design
  • Experience with multiple ETL frameworks (e.g. AWS Glue, AWS DMS, Databricks, Informatica, Mulesoft)

Extra Points:
  • Experience with OO or scripting languages
  • Other cloud experience, such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform
