Senior Developer

Our client is seeking a Senior Developer who will act as a lead application designer and developer for business critical systems and designs and develops new applications working within existing standards.

• Exhibit strong leadership in areas of defining/improving standards, mentoring more junior employees, and implementation/project management of critical projects
• Plan, organize and manage projects, perform SDLC activities including scope, analyze requirements, prepare functional designs, specifications, test strategy and test plans, and turnover documentation.
• Time and project management skills, including ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, plan and implement project specifications, report project status, identify delays, and raise concerns
• Enhance existing applications
• Debug and fix production code
• Log bugs and communicate application problems with other application developers
• Maintain, modify and enhance existing multi-tiered and distribution systems
• Interface regularly with the user representatives to gather requirements and support their needs
• Perform other duties as required
• Special Projects as needed for business

• 5-10 years of professional experience
• Quick to learn business operations, functions and processes to provide guidance on operational improvements and/or system solutions to address them
• Experience following software applications through their full life cycle, including data collection and analysis to identify software needs, project proposals, development, testing, release and maintenance of programs
• Solid background in object oriented methodologies
• Experience writing moderate to complex SQL queries
• Windows .NET Framework, including C#, VB.Net and ASP.Net programming experience preferred
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
• Experience developing in an environment with high availability and short project timelines
• Experience working on a multi-person project through the complete application development lifecycle
• Experience troubleshooting in a production environment
• Experience designing and executing unit, regression, and load tests and previous experience contributing as a lead developer
• Experience gathering accurate requirements from multiple user groups
• Strong analysis skills
• Must demonstrate discipline, self-reliance, dependability, and good judgment
• On-call rotation and participation in special event coverage is required.
