Job Title: Senior Java Developer
Duration : 6-12 monthsLocation : Quincy, MAMUST have experience with AWS MigrationJob Overview:The Sr. Java developers primary role is to support DESE and work on AWS migration in conjunction with the Shared Applications Architect and Release Management teams. MassHealth is looking for motivated individuals that seek-out public service as an opportunity to expand their knowledge, gain valuable experience, and give back to the community. This position is anticipated to be a minimum six-month engagement with the possibility of being extended for a longer term.Job Duties: (Detailed list of Responsibilities)Responsible for the analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation in the development and maintenance of critical MassHealth applicationsAccountable for full systems development life cycle including system architecture documents; technical design documents, release management guide, deployment plan documents, and other technical artifactsPrepare SQL scripts for modifying and maintaining data. Write optimized queries, views for integration with other applicationsDocument and maintain code using change control softwareSupport cross-functional projects and integrated business solutions to enhance stakeholder capabilities and efficienciesWork with cross-functional teams to manage projects, create statement of work and communicate progress on goals to both technical and non-technical groupsAdhere to established Commonwealth policy and proceduresREQUIRED SKILLS (Special Skill Set, Abilities, Knowledge ):Experience in building high quality applications by creating a well-designed architecture, writing clean code and implementing industry standards, design concepts and design patterns.Must have successfully delivered complex applications by collaborating with non-technical team members including quality assurance, business analysts, release engineers and project managers.Expert knowledge of Java/J2EE Stack including Apache, Tomcat, LinuxExpert level knowledge on developing multi-tier enterprise level web-based applications using J2EE technologies, Hibernate, Spring and XML/XSLT and Multi-threading conceptsExpert knowledge of PHP, AJAX, Spring Boot, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery2.x/3.0, CSS and Angular JS (2.0 or higher) or Node JSExpert knowledge in Web Services (Restful and SOAP) and securityKnowledge on technologies such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash and other big data conceptsHands-on experience working with AWS core services and deploying cloud-based solutions using AWS services such as VPCs, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, Glue, IAM, SQS, CloudWatch, Route53, ALB Code Pipeline etc.Ability to mentor and lead technical team members responsiblyAbility to handle aggressive deadlines with agility and results driven approachAbility to translate, statistically analyze data and effectively report problems through written and /or graphic formatAbility to independently determine technical solutions including test documentationApplies advanced knowledge of design methodologiesExhibit DevOps Mindset where team is accountable for applications/project from inception to sunsetKnowledge and understanding of performance testing and tuning of applicationsStrong team player with good communication skillsQUALIFICATIONS (Education, Years Experience, Certificates):Bachelors degree in a computer science or a related field or relevant work experience8+ years experience programming in a team environment.Strong working knowledge and experience in programming with Oracle and Java/J2EE technologies.Ability to design SQL databases given applications demands and data modelsWorking knowledge and experience of application servers, ideally WebLogic and AWSProven ability to write well-designed, efficient, and testable codeExperience supporting a test-driven development cultureKnowledge and experience working with information and security architecturesExperience programming in Agile methodologies- ID: #23618005
