Senior QA Test Designer

Permanent., Full Time role operating fully remote ; Must be located in MA, CT, NH, or RI

Designs testing as part of various projects for the IS Project Management Office in collaboration with clinical, operational, vendor, and IS stakeholders.

Develops quality assurance tools, activities, and reporting that support the quality goals of IS teams, outside of projects, and collaborates with those groups to incorporate those tools and activities into their operational processes. Acts as a functional expert on quality assurance processes and tools. Mentors and supports other Test Designers. II.

Major Responsibilities:

Designs user-acceptance, functional, and integration testing for the project by coordinating with project stakeholders.

Analyzes business requirements for the project.

Analyzes defined solution for the project to understand technology risk.

Determines right balance of testing depth and breadth versus duration such that the risk level is appropriate for the project stakeholders and client-general.

Coordinates user-acceptance and functional testing work completed by others

Documents the testing strategy, plan, and results according to standards defined by the client IS Project Management Office.

Leads the testing portion of the project plan in collaboration with the project manager.

Estimates effort required to perform test design, coordination, and testing activities.

Executes tests, tracks defects, and performs root cause analysis.

Communicates status and final reports for quality assurance and testing activities.

Works with IS teams to develop checklists or other documentation tools for use at process control points. This work involves designing documents, gathering periodic measures, publishing quality metrics, and may involve auditing completed documentation.

Maintains advanced knowledge of the types of quality assurance tools and techniques used in requirements analysis, test planning, test case development, defect management, and IS change management.

Represents the Quality Assurance function in various review and process improvement councils, as appropriate.

Mentors less experienced team members on test design and quality assurance techniques.

Educates customers and vendors on the value of a structured quality assurance approach.

Develops continuous improvement opportunities within Information Services and the IS Project Management Office.

Responsibilities:

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.:

Minimum 3-5 years of complex test design, coordination, and execution experience within Business/Clinical applications and IS Infrastructure projects from planning through completion under strict deadlines

An understanding of formal Project Management using Waterfall

An understanding of Software Quality Assurance methods including types of testing and their purpose as well as the Defect Management process

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Excellent analytical skills

Ability to facilitate information gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to lead business process re-design work that leverages information systems
