Job Description Software Engineer, Data Platform POSITION The Enterprise Data Architecture team is seeking to hire a Software Engineer to build and support our next gen self-service data platform. As an engineer on the team, you will build out capabilities for the core platform and shape the journey for teams migrating or building new data pipelines. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating at the intersection of software engineering, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure, and infosec domains. Knowledge of Python, SQL, and AWS is required. A minimum of 3 years development experience is required. Responsibilities Build out self-service patterns for Snowflake Data Cloud, including onboarding, data governance, and data discovery Maintain and support technology transition from an S3/Athena Data Lake architecture Support new teams onboarding to data platform and champion business partners needs Author technical design and support documentation Responsible for code reviews, testing, validation, and production deployment of developed solutions Comply with IT infosec standards and mandates while providing solutions to our business and technical partners Responsible for communicating progress to stakeholders Basic Qualifications Must have strong AWS infrastructure experience with focus on data, compute, and analytic services Must have at least 3 years of overall development experience Must have at least 1 year experience developing with Python, preferably in a serverless/batch environment Must have at least 1 year hands-on experience utilizing SQL in complex solutions Comfortable troubleshooting deployments in a Linux/AWS environment Strong foundational knowledge of security best practices Hands-on experience with IaC technologies (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc) and CI/CD tools Must have a firm understanding of delivering large-scale data sets solutions and SDLC best practices Excellent written and verbal communications skills to collaborate across teams and organizations Self-motivated, intellectually curious and works well independently Preferred Qualifications Snowflake experience is a very strong plus Financial Services experience is a strong plus Experience with DBT AWS and/or Snowflake Certifications
