DescriptionAmazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Engineer to architect, design, and develop technologies that deliver state-of-the-art robotic manipulation systems.You will be part of diverse, collaborative team of engineers (hardware, software) and scientists developing the next generation of end-effectors and algorithms that will be deployed across a world-wide fleet of robotic manipulation systems.Our organization launched the first large-scale Robotic Manipulation capability in 2020 (Robin). The solution has now scaled to a fleet of >1300 and has shipped >3B packages. No comparable solutions exist in the world. We are now evolving Robotic Manipulation capabilities into new process paths including manipulation of individual items (Sparrow); these advancements will result in fleets exceeding 10,000 that will unlock Amazon's ability to improve service to our customers.We have come a long way in demonstrating the viability of Robotics at scale but we are still very early in the journey of transforming Amazon Fulfillment and the world. 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Knowledge of grasping algorithms, motion planning, and kinematics and dynamics for robotic arms.

Familiarity with computer vision for robotic manipulation, simulation frameworks, and controls.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

3+ years experience programming in C, Python, Java or related programming language

Experience deploying grasping models, motion planning algorithms, and task planning systems for robotic manipulation
