Solidus is searching for a Software Engineer with Matlab analysis experience.

The successful candidate will join a team that develops, builds, tests, and operates laser communications systems for a variety of applications and environments.

Requirements: - ship and Active Secret or Top Secret highly preferred - Bachelors Degree - 5 years minimum relevant experience

Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Persons in the position will be asked to contribute to testbed control system development and prototype testing including initial test planning. • Must be willing to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Team members work with inter-disciplinary teams to field advanced electro-optical system prototypes and test with externally developed systems. • Demonstrate an ability to be a self-starter and take initiative. • Hands-on experience developing software with direct hardware interfaces. • Prototype systems span technologies including software applications, relational databases, embedded software, FPGAs, custom and COTS electronics assemblies, and optical communication technologies in addition to both custom and cots mechanical assemblies. Testbeds may include the use of laser sources, various optical test equipment, power meters, and cameras. • Testbed development, test data analysis, tool development, along with some test planning and implementation, test reporting, and documentation.

Required skills: • Data Analysis Packages (such as MATLAB, R, etc) • Software/Algorithm Development • Software Documentation • Scripting/coding in Perl, Python, C/C • Revision Control Software such as GIT, SVN, Maven or Gradle, GITlab, Make / Autotools • Experience developing in a UNIX based environment with familiarity of UNIX based scripting • Hardware and Software Integration • Experience interfacing with hardware • Experience using Matlab or a similar numerical analysis tool is required • Version Control (SVN, CVS, or Git)

Preferred skills: • Experience in databases (relational and otherwise) and XML • Experience using issue tracking tools (JIRA or similar) desired • Experience in test automation highly desired
