The Sr. Director, Content Development Services is at the intersection of strategy and tactical oversite of content activities, leading content services and functions for all projects and management of staff who perform content activities while monitoring outcomes and driving efficiencies. Strategically, they are responsible for maintaining external industry connections, establishing expectations, driving future improvements, and ensuring Pearson is evaluating and implementing content solutions and strategies aligned with customer needs for today and tomorrow. Tactically, they are responsible for the daily activities necessary for delivery of content that are on time, on budget, with quality.The successful candidate will lead, recommend, evolve, and market (both internally and externally) content innovations, new content modalities, and new approaches for generating content; drive procedural efficiencies and meet all quality standards. This role will serve as the externally facing content expert for Pearson School and is responsible for building and maintaining content-based relationships with our customers. Join us in revolutionizing the assessment industry with your leadership and expertise.ResponsibilitiesThe Sr Director, Content Development Services will:Establish and cultivate strategic partnerships with external organizations, content providers, and industry leaders. Leverage these partnerships to enhance our content offerings, expand our products and services and drive business growth.Support customer communications and presentations, as needed, to support strategic initiatives.Participate in associations, conferences, webinars, and national associations as a spokesperson for the company. Effectively communicate our values, vision and content initiatives to external audiences.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, instructional methodologies and assessment practices. Lead the team in exploring inclusive and innovative approaches to content development, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and advancements.Implement and evaluate multiple content generation models to meet multiple use purposes.Lead content process development, adherence and continuous improvement while striving for consistent, repeatable, and efficient procedures across all projects.Ensure Content Development Services has the capacity and capability to meet the requirements and timelines of the business; all content outputs are delivered on time, on budget with quality.Provide leadership to the content development organization fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Motivate and inspire team members to achieve their full potential, ensuring the successful execution of content development projects.Provide guidance, coaching and training to team members fostering continuous improvement and professional growth within the content development team.Assure effective communication and collaboration internal and external to the content development organization.Identify, manage, and mitigate risks; assure and assesses business success.Drive continuous improvement, cost improvement, quality standards, and improved cycle time.

Forecasting, planning, and reporting of content projects.

Leading the bid and proposal content solution and budget development.

Manage the department budget and meet financial goals (i.e., cost analysis and reduction).

Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree required, MBA or advanced degree desired.Knowledge of content development best practices; Assessment industry experience highly desired.Deep understanding of content strategy and the ability to craft content that is inclusive and resonates with diverse audiences.Management experience in the areas of leadership, mentoring, professional development and team building.Resource planning and forecasting; management of the triple constraints; quality, cost, and schedule.Extensive customer relationship management and people management.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive data-informed decisions and identify areas for improvement.Business development expertise to support comprehensive content service approaches.Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements related to assessment content development. Working ConditionsRemote, with occasional travelCompensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
