Sr. IT Network Engineer

Description:Direct Hire or temp to perm.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure team to design, configure, deploy, maintain, and support comprehensive enterprise network infrastructure including VPN, Firewalls, SD-WAN devices, SIEM, Switches, Wireless, Voice gateways, and Routers
  • Support and maintain business infrastructure needs
  • Act as project leader for new initiatives
  • Prioritize and manage project and daily work flow responsibilities
  • Ensure reliability in network communication systems and operational compliance with business standards
  • Contribute to advancement of infrastructure by developing supporting procedures, best practices, and road map
  • Provide support assistance for mission critical infrastructure systems including on-call, unplanned emergency response, and change window
  • Evaluate problems and recommend solutions, products, and technologies to meet business objectives and requirements
  • Actively protect IT assets and infrastructure from threats and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Monitor and audit potential security violations and ensure systems are updated and patched
  • Assist in incident response for any breaches, intrusions, or theft
  • Collaborate with Service Desk and Desk Side Support technicians in incident response, direct incident first responder actions, and escalate issues as needed
  • Assist end-user, external customers, and other IT professionals in network and security support requests
  • Analyze and conduct planning, testing, and implementation of hardware and software upgrades
  • Maintain system documentation and configuration data for operating, regulatory, and audit purposes
  • Other duties as required

Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent level of industry certification
  • At least 5 years of experience in Network Administration
  • At least 5 years of experience with up-to-date network security protocols, hardware, and software
  • Experience with Network infrastructure design including telephony and video
  • In depth knowledge of VLANS, TCP/IP, WANS, routing, and switching (Cisco)
  • Experience with Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto
  • Experience with IDS/IPS and Syslog setup, monitoring, and management
  • Strong customer service skills with outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a huge plus
  • CISSP, Security+, or other industry leading security certification a plus
  • Familiarity with server administration, virtualization, and hosted/cloud platforms (including Azure) a plus
