Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Bedford, Massachusetts. This role involves handling both accounts payable and receivable, utilizing analytical skills, and performing general accounting tasks. The position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain financial transactions Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records Keep up-to-date records of financial transactions in the general ledger Prepare and post journal entries to record all business transactions Carry out financial analysis to assist in financial decision making Oversee month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reports Utilize financial management skills to improve efficiency and reduce costs Perform general accounting duties to support the finance department.Requirements Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Knowledge in maintaining and updating the General Ledger Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Strong skills in Financial Analysis Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using accounting software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent organizational and time-management skills Attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Strong ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct.
