Description Our client, an international consulting organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in the consulting industry, based in Boston, Massachusetts. An ideal candidate has between 3-5 years of experience acting as a staff accountant, preparer role. This person has a very strong grasp of accounting double entry principles and has worked on accounting teams with exposure to a broad number of corporate accounting areas, such as revenue, expenses, leasing, payroll etc. This person is motivated by exposure to an end-to-end accounting function where they will learn about every area within the corporate environment. This person will work very closely with a senior accountant and will be responsible for booking all journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, preparing cash reconciliations and other responsibilities typical with a finance function. This candidate should be comfortable with operating in a “build” type of environment where we are putting in place the accounting and finance infrastructure necessary to support global and rapidly growing business. Key Responsibilities:Prepare all journal entries entered into the NetSuite General Ledger System. Create an audit trail containing supporting documentation underpinning the journal entry and enabling the detailed review by the Senior Accountant. Prepare the month end reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts as of month end and executing the requisite controls to verify accuracy of account balances. This will involve maintaining documentation to support existence, completeness and valuation of all balance sheet accounts. Preparation of quarterly analytical reviews, whereby account balances are compared to prior quarter and prior year, investigating any unusual movements or anomalies. Monitor cash accounts and performing cash reconciliations, identifying reconciling items, investigating and clearing those timely. e, QuickBooks, and SAP.Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries. Experience with Month End Close procedures. Proficient in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proven experience in meeting deadlines and working under pressure. Commitment to ethical behavior and compliance with laws and regulations. Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Demonstrated ability to improve and streamline processes to increase efficiency.
