The Staff Accountant – Premium Svcs Operations reports directly to the Premium Svcs Manager. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Premium Svcs Manager in processing daily and monthly accounting activity to ensure that incoming Group funds are properly assigned to the correct policies.The role requires the ability to coordinate the accumulation of data from Treasury and fellow members of the Premium Svcs area as well as other departments in order to ensure that group accounting is accurate and appropriate.The Staff Accountant is expected to:

Review and verify daily cash receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness

Create all journal entries to record suspense transactions

Perform various monthly suspense account reconciliations, including researching and resolving certain discrepancies

Prepare monthly reports

Respond to internal and external audit inquiries, including supporting the annual external audit

Must comply with privacy guidelines; will protect the privacy of customer information

Identifying and implementing opportunities for in-department improvement and efficiency

Perform special analyses – ad hoc and as requested from management.

QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree in accounting preferred.Experience: Minimum 2+ years of accounting or equivalent experience required.Knowledge Requirements:

Entry level knowledge of accounting systems and procedures

Excellent communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build and extend relationships with internal and external clients

Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team-oriented environment

Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to context, substance and detail

Strong office computer skills and the ability to adapt to new software environments.

Hybrid Work ModelAt our Canton location, employees will be on site Monday - Thursday starting 5/1/23.
