Structural Engineer

AECOM is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to be based in our Boston, MA office.  This position will perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues.The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following items: Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineerGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined proceduresWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple testsProposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignmentsIdentifies discrepancies in resultsProvides guidance to entry-level engineersPerforms work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervisionIndependently performs all the tasks necessary to complete the primary design elements for engineering worksAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.  With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable, and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.  Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.
