Switchboard Operator

Description:This position includes operating telephone control board and paging system, Dispatching incoming calls, and paging internal and on-call clinical staff during and after regular business hours. The successful candidates will have an understanding of healthcare terminology. I.E. If a customer calls main line and asks to schedule an X-ray, this candidate should know to transfer the call to the radiology department. Experience: The successful candidate will be one with previous operator/switchboard and customer service experience, along with basic computer skills and knowledge of MS products. a familiarity with Medical Terminology or experience in a medical environment is preferred. Responsibility: Answers phones and routes incoming calls to appropriate offices or personnel; Dispatch Emergency Cod calls to clinical personnel. Processess paperwork in an efficient manner according to set procedures.
