Sr. Systems AdministratorBoston, MA6+ monthsOur client has an opening for a Sr. Systems Administrator with a comprehensive skill set in Windows Server, Virtualization and Storage. The Sr. System Administrator will plan, develop, implement and manage storage and server-based solutions in order to a meet business needs. The primary services handled by the System Administration team include:

  • Management of virtual environments (VMware)
  • Management of Active Directory and Exchange environments.
  • Management of Storage/SAN environments. EMC Unisphere experience preferred.
  • Management of Tools used for disaster recovery. (Recoverpoint / SRM)
  • Deployment of new servers and services
  • Server hardware troubleshooting and configuration
  • Operating systems troubleshooting and configuration for both Microsoft and VMware
  • Server and Storage capacity planning and management
  • Active server monitoring and resolution of all alerts.
  • Management of End Point protection solutions
  • Server patching, configuration, hardening. (SCCM)
  • Participate in rotation for afterhours support.
Must be able to manage services from the planning phase through the implementation and management phases. He or she will interface with other team members, management, and end-users on a regular basis. After hours availability is required in order to respond to emergencies, and to perform system maintenance that cannot be completed during normal business hours.Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of ten years experience supporting the following is preferred: Server OS: Microsoft Windows 2012/2016/2019 - Active Directory - Group Policy, DHCP, DNS - Messaging: Exchange 2010/2016, Enterprise Vault and ProofPoint - Desktop OS: Windows 10 - Endpoint Protection: Symantec, Crowdstrike - Deployment tools: SCCM, Site Recovery Manager
  • Ability to automate processes through the effective application of scripts (PowerShell, Pearl, VBS)
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting server hardware (Client preferred)
  • Experience with MS clustering services
  • Microsoft/VMware certifications preferred
  • ITIL certification preferred
  • A Highly self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while prioritizing and delivering results on time.

Experience with the following is also a Plus:
  • Firewalls, VPN, Cisco Networking, MS-SQL, IP networking
