Solidus is searching for a Systems Administrator. This work involves understanding the attributes and vulnerabilities of U.S. space-related systems, including the sensors and networks used to detect, track, and characterize objects in space, the satellites that provide space-based services, and the infrastructure used to control and operate these satellites. This work requires detailed modeling of optical, radar, and propulsion systems; novel ideas for new space systems and on-orbit operations; and understanding the timelines, architectures, and decision-making processes for maintaining awareness of the space environment.

Responsibilities: - Serves as a frontline interface to users with technical issues. Understand computing needs, provide technical solutions and support to users, update system configurations, solve user problems with application compatibility, installation, operating system upgrades and maintaining disk based backup system. - Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains documentation, tunes system performance, installs and maintains system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. - Makes recommendations for HW and SW purchases. Interacts with third-party technology vendors. Conducts system analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. - May develop and configure system specifications that address functional requirements. - May design and plan network systems, design and/or install wide-scale internal voice and data communications networks (LAN/WAN), and conduct testing of network systems. - Supports our Firepond field site consisting of telescope and radar operations. - Work and partner with other departments to subscribe/ensure IT and Security services (RMF and compliance).

Required Skills: - U.S. Citizen and an Active Top Secret Clearance - Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, OR a Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience - Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security) - Must have at least 4 years experience with: - Operating System (OS) platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows) - Security plans (i.e. RMF), procedures, and compliance with DoD directive 8140 - Configuring and maintaining Firewall/VPN configurations - Developing and administering LAN/WAN environments (including DHCP, DNS, NIS, NFS, etc.) - System Auditing, Hardening and Firewall Configurations - Scripting Languages: Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Powershell - Software Configuration Management Tools - Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data - System Administration - Virtualization Technologies

Must Have: - Solid understanding/experience of operating systems such as Linux, Windows Server/client OS and related software, and virtualization technologies as well as applying software patch/antivirus updates/backups - Experience developing and maintaining Data Loss Prevention strategies utilizing Endpoint Security solutions - Direct experience and skill developing and administering various sized LAN/WAN environments (including DHCP, DNS, NIS, NFS, etc.), and configuring and maintaining Firewall/VPN configurations - Experience developing scripts to automate various auditing tasks - Coordinate procurements, installations, upgrades, and other services as needed as well as experience maintaining configuration management of system assets.

Nice to Have: - Experience administering Linux variants and VMWare ESX/vSphere/VCenter suite - Experience managing network switches, routers, and various cryptographic hardware - Prior experience working in a collaborative team environment - Technical experience and skills, course work completed towards a degree, and industry IT certifications may be considered substitutes for education and DoD security experience
