HII Unmanned Systems (UxS) has an exciting systems engineering role to develop, integrate, test, and field autonomous maritime vehicles. As our new Systems Engineer you will apply strong systems, integration and test experience and technical knowledge to solve the challenges in engineering unmanned systems. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, and will perform the following duties:
  • Lead analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of unmanned marine vehicles and support technology
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer and mission needs into system requirements
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, and develops and maintains accurate systems documentation

What you will be doing

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

What we are looking for

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance. #LI-MH1 TE EP MV SG

Bonus points for

  • Experience with Matlab and Python
  • Experience with Jama
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Domain knowledge and contextual understanding of robotics and use of robotics in naval mission space, especially autonomous vehicles

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
