Technology Project Manager(PM)

Boston, MA

Hybrid as needed, depending on firm guidanceThe role of the Technology Project Manager will be based locally in Boston; however, reports directly to Manager in NY. Task categories include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:- Effective horizontal and vertical facilitation and communication with business units, Corporate Services, IT, and other departments- Liaison to Corporate Services, Business Management, and Project Management Office- Relationship building- Project team development and cohesion- Contribution to team and department efforts- Documentation management- Project reporting- Issues and risk management- Project planning, scheduling and task coordination- On-site project management and field coordination of technology installation activity-

Prior working knowledge of telco carrier installation, network installation, and desktop technology installations- The consultant shall communicate to senior levels of management in the most effective manner within the organization, through verbal and written means.- Will aid in the success of the individual projects under management and responsibility.- Knowing when to escalate issues to key individuals is appropriate in the Morgan Stanley environment.- Knowing how to be tactful yet direct, to derive at results and productivity is crucial and is a part of the project teaming process.- The Project Manager role requires a strong understanding of Technology Communication Room construction, Room-Ready features and the relationship between requirements, design, and installation delivery.- The role requires interaction with highly skilled technology professionals, corporate services and construction installation staff.- The Project Manager must be able to process large amounts of information and respond in the most appropriate manner, as to continue building a credible position within the project team.

- Strong and proven understanding of networking technologies (voice and data) is required.- Coupled with an analytical background to best review and recommend technology options, while putting in place necessary planning and accurate scheduling is crucial.- Proven abilities to coordinate across various IT disciplines is necessary.- As this position is pivotal towards project success, proactive and responsive action is expected of the consultant.
