The Upstream Development Associate will support the design and execution of laboratory-based studies focused on upstream process development. This role will contribute to the optimization and scale-up of processes to support the production of biologics. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in the transfer of processes to external partners and internal manufacturing groups.Responsibilities Include: Perform upstream process operations, including cell banking, cell expansion, bioreactor runs, process optimization, and characterization.Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups to carry out upstream studies using shake flasks, wave bags, and benchtop bioreactors.Utilize high-throughput systems such as AMBR15, AMBR250, and Robocolumns, along with analytical tools like cell counters and bioanalyzers to support experimental work.Coordinate sample submissions with the testing team, organize and analyze data using tools like Microsoft Excel, JMP, and Spotfire, and summarize key findings.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of lab work in electronic lab notebooks and assist in the preparation of technical reports.
