- With minimal guidance, independently translates conceptual elements into finished designs.
- May design across multiple mediums (e.g., digital, mobile, print, web). Will work in a Studio capacity, and occasionally build new creative.
- Leads projects with larger scope and complexity, that may be cross-functional.
- Collaborates with other Studio and Project Managers to ensure a cohesive product.
- Uses knowledge in design and computer applications to develop and prepare moderately complex files for Production.
- Reviews final designs and layouts, suggests improvements and modifies formats to increase the quality of production and ensure that standards are met.
- Other technical duties may include sizing, scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning, editing copy and eliminating defective and excessive imaging.
- Responsible for archiving and updating graphic files.
- Designs, develops, produces and prepares designs within established brand guidelines.
- Assignments are typically of a large scope or complexity.
- Leveraging a strong understanding of composition techniques (e.g., typography, photography, print production, page composition), creates visually compelling design work that will capture the attention of the target audience.
- Develops methods that help to more effectively utilize designers` skills to select and create layouts and formats for designs.
- Fosters an open, collaborative creative environment by sharing ideas and encouraging others to express new, innovative ideas.
- Proactively manages projects, addresses issues and ensures due dates and budgets are met.
- Independently manages issues or changes and escalates, as appropriate.
- Builds awareness and leverages industry examples and incorporates emerging trends into concepts.
- Shares learnings with the team by identifying how changes can be connected to the brand.
- Assists with coaching and reviewing work of other team members and provides feedback and guidance.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Experience level mid to senior. Someone who's worked at a large company in a creative studio would be perfect.
- We have found that small, independent designers are not really cut out for the studio, unless they have experience with working with larger companies.
- It's fast paced, you need to keep track of your own projects and come up to creative solutions to problems when they come up.
