Wireless Network Engineer

Description:3 months.

Responsibilities:
  • Strengthen, augment, and evolve wireless connectivity throughout extensive local and global networks, including service architecture and design, service optimization, and refactoring
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for other engineers
  • Contribute to training, documentation, creation of knowledgebase articles, and collaborate with Customer Experience team to ensure proper support is maintained
  • Build and design new wireless networks
  • Write standard wireless specifications for new and existing deployments
  • Collaborate with and support network architect through future architectural changes
  • Tier 3, expert level wireless network support
  • Lead and mentor individuals in the wireless function area
  • Build SOPs for repetitive functions such as new wireless deployments, software code upgrades, radius authentication standards
  • Build and maintain a Cloud based wireless authentication through SecureW2
  • Build and develop an IOT environment and deploy for an array of devices
  • Support IOT device registration
  • Work with the Customer Experience team to work through customer support tickets
  • Troubleshoot layer 3 issues which could affect the wireless environment
  • Develop, maintain, and develop best practice documentation concerning network mapping, network configuration, and processes
  • Monitor new and existing equipment, hardware, and upgrades of software
  • Stay up to date with latest products, services, standards, protocols, and developments in the wireless industry
  • Other duties as required

Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technology field
  • Strong knowledge of best practice architecture and administration of Wireless technologies
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and IP protocols such as TCP/IP networking (IPv4/IPv6), OSPF, DNS, BGP, and DHCP
  • Experience implementing and supporting wireless, specifically controller-based architectures
  • Experience with radius management and operations in support wireless client authentication
  • Technical writing skills for documenting environments and procedures
  • Experience with architecture/design, training, documentation, delegation, and innovative thinking
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading and developing multi-site Wireless network related architectures a plus
  • Experience deploying hybrid Wireless systems with on-premises and/or public/private/SAS cloud components a plus
  • Experience with Wireless network performance monitoring and benchmarking a plus
  • Experience in authentication protocols and other methods of providing security for passwords and network communication, including Multi-Factor Authentication a plus
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices related to wireless systems a plus
