We’re looking for diverse, talented team members who want to grow and challenge what’s possible with us.Who we’re looking forToyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems Automated Performance and Application Department (IVS-APAD) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) Evaluation Engineer.The primary responsibility of this role is to define performance requirements for and evaluate current and future ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems). Example activities include preparing systems, vehicles, test equipment, and logistics for evaluation drives as well as completing and analyzing collected data from such drives.Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the IVS-APAD department's objective to [define performance requirements and evaluate ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) against those requirementsWhat you’ll be doing

Lead the evaluation and tuning of ADAS / ADS systems with a focus on North American road conditions and challenges.

Design quantitative benchmarking methods for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) on competitor vehicles using GPS, camera, or other sensors.

Plan and execute evaluations for ADAS features on proving grounds and public roads.

Configure, modify, and troubleshoot test vehicles, sensors and data acquisition equipment.

Analyze evaluation data that allow for tracking system performance throughout the development cycle.

Provide data-driven proposals for feature modifications or improvements to existing systems, centered around the usability and acceptance of ADAS functions.

Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to further increase efficiency for the department.

Identify and propose performance targets for new ADAS systems and functions that delight customers.

What you bring

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical engineering, or equivalent.

2+ years of experience in leading or assisting projects involving stakeholders from multiple engineering disciplines.

Clear and concise presentation skills, both written and oral.

Experience in using Python or similar language to perform automated analysis of system and vehicle data.

Experience in leading in-vehicle evaluation and tuning activities of automated features or systems controlling acceleration, braking, or steering, including benchmarking of several similar systems.

Ability to travel up to 25%.

What you may bring

Experience working with robotics or other automated systems.

2+ years of experience in product launch within the automotive industry.

Experience in developing evaluation methods for new systems or features, including modifying or creating new KPI for ADAS systems.

Toyota Middle Class and T1 driving certifications.

Working knowledge of radar, camera, and sonar systems in automotive applications.

Experience installing, troubleshooting, and analyzing data from testing equipment such as RTK, Vbox, LabView, CANoe, or other similar systems.
