Description We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team located in EAST LANSING, Michigan. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the Insurance industry. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be required to provide support for essential office functions, handle incoming mail, assist with office preparation, and offer excellent customer service. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive demeanor and detail-oriented work ethic. Handle incoming mail, including opening, sorting, scanning, and digital distribution to the appropriate point of contact. Assist with preparations for office reopen as needed. Perform shipping and receiving duties as assigned, which may involve some lifting. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workspace. Use a laptop and digital communication tools frequently for tasks such as ordering and filing. Leverage skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to perform tasks effectively. Display dependability in supporting essential office functions. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within the insurance industry Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education or certifications in related field preferred Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures Experience working with confidential information and discretion with such information Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Excellent customer service skills, with experience in client-facing roles preferred Familiarity with the insurance industry and its administrative needs is a plus.
