Our experts co-create products with customers to bring innovations to major industry sectors such as transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction.These solutions contribute to a sustainable future by pushing the boundaries in thermal resistance, robustness and lightweight applications.As an Administrative Assistant at the Polyol Plant in Wyandotte, Michigan, you will provide administrative and clerical support needed for vital processes within the plant. You will be responsible for a variety of programs, processes, and tasks related to the daily operation of a 24/7 batch production plant. Your ingenuity and creativity will help to drive continuous improvement. Your strong safety mindset will support the plant safety culture and ensure compliance with all internal and external safety requirements and regulations.During your straight Monday to Friday day shift as a Administrative Assistant, you will
Provide daily administrative support, including but not limited to submitting purchase requisitions, processing invoices, tracking purchase orders, ordering supplies, and managing conference room schedules
Coordinate/direct third-party contractors and/or contract services related to basic plant operation and improvement (e.g. plant uniform ordering & cleaning, general contractor office improvements, etc.)
Oversee document retention program by collecting & boxing documents to be sent to off-site storage, ensure that documents have the proper retention codes by liaising with the Legal department as needed, facilitating requests to bring off-site documents back on-site, etc.
Support digitalization efforts by working with digitalization team members and plant personnel on various initiatives and projects
Assist with other special projects related to general plant operations and improvements, as requested (e.g. oversee kitchen/office remodels, special event planning, etc.)
If you
Have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a manufacturing environment (PSM/RMP regulated batch production experience preferred)
Are highly proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and open to learning new technology and software
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision
Are a self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment and to coordinate and prioritize diverse activities to meet critical deadlines
Are able to lift up to 25 pounds, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and complete job-related tasks throughout the plant’s footprint.
