Description We are recruiting an Assistant Controller to join our team based in Holly, Michigan. This role is essential to our financial operations, with responsibilities spanning from overseeing daily accounting functions and managing accounts payable and receivable, to providing monthly financial reports and supporting cost-saving initiatives. Key responsibilities: Overseeing and supporting daily accounting functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Preparing and presenting monthly financial statements, including variance analysis and PPV reporting. Conducting monthly reconciliations and supporting the Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable functions. Tracking and maintaining fixed asset reporting, safeguarding the company's investments. Coordinating cash management activities in line with corporate financial leadership. Providing financial review and advice to the finance team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. Participating in financial compliance regulations and developing training, work instructions, financial controls, and operating procedures. Assisting with annual business plan preparation through a bottom-up process involving all facets of the business. Providing financial reporting to local and corporate management as required. Ensuring all financial policies, procedures, and activities are legal and ethical, and informing management of any discrepancies immediately. Requirements The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position Proficiency in executing Month End Close procedures is necessary Experience in Financial Statement Preparation is required The ideal candidate will have experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and accounting software, is required A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials are a plus The candidate must have a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is necessary Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and uphold a strict level of confidentiality.
