Athletic Trainer - 1.0 Variable Shift - Lawrence Tech University

It's an exciting time to become a part of our Athletic Trainer team This individual would develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and HFHS sites.Lawrence Tech University, established in 1932, is located in Southfield, Michigan. A NAIA school, LTU is affiliated with the WHAC. With an enrollment of over 4,000 students, Lawrence Tech Blue Devils fields 23 teams: baseball, m/w basketball, m/w bowling, m/w cross country, football, m/w golf, m/w hockey, m/w lacrosse, m/w soccer, softball, m/w tennis, m/w track and field, and m/w volleyball. The athletic trainer will complete approximately 1720 hours of athletic training services at LTU; however, additional hours outside of the school for Henry Ford Health System may be assigned. The AT may be assigned to the following teams: football, men’s lacrosse, volleyball, and/or men’s basketball. They will effectively communicate with the other athletic trainers at Lawrence Tech, while serving as a liaison for their athletic department to Henry Ford Health System. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent required.

Post-certification master's degree in athletic training or related field preferred.

At least two years of related and expansive work experience in all aspects of athletic training or a combination of education and experience preferred.

Ability to work independently and prioritize delivery of services as needed.

Adheres to community outreach or school policies, including but not limited to NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA while meeting expectations of community outreach programming.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Board of Certification, Inc. certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.

Licensed as an Athletic Trainer (AT) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs required or obtained prior to date of hire. Additional certifications and credentials obtained in health care (i.e. CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT) preferred.
