DTS is looking for experienced AWS Architect for a Direct Client position based in Detroit, MI

Job Description: Serves as the highest level technical application and/or business architecture expert for software development / infrastructure teams. Acts as SME for project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of technology solutions. In application architecture: designs the inter-system/application structures, advises teams of standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes. In business architecture: defines cross-business function processes, advises teams of consistent processes and common business functions. Drives short and long term architecture strategy for the overall technology project portfolio for key business segments. Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and process improvement to enable business strategy. Communicates and validates program architecture with technical leadership, program management, business line leadership, and executive level stakeholders. This is a senior-level position that will serve as an esteemed mentor to more junior architects and will report to a Sr. Director of Technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive the short and long term architecture strategy and portfolio needs for key business segments.
  • Serve as an esteemed technical mentor to architecture and software development colleagues.
  • Provide cost effective solutions that enable the business and maximize flexibility to integrate with other systems.
  • Supports the development of architecture principles, styles, patterns and standards for systems across the business, translating corporate strategy into technical strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional team to drive peer reviews, gain consensus, and finalize proposed solutions with all stakeholders.
  • Communicate and validate architecture with executive IT stakeholders, architects, and technologists.
  • Review legacy architecture, identify components strategically aligned for re-architecture, monitor technology usage for end of life cycle.

Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory Skills
  • In-depth technical knowledge with the following specific technologies: Cloud Migrations preferably with AWS as cloud provider Design / Development and deployment in groundup cloud services ( Micro services / Data services) Experince in writting Terraform scripts Experience in running AWS tools like TSO and Well-Architected Experience in Cloud economics"
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or other relevant field of study
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and coach a technical teams
  • Expert knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure
  • Ability to develop enterprise guidelines and standards
  • Expert knowledge of the software development process and how it fits within the IT architecture and infrastructure
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems or expert knowledge of key business functions and processes.
  • Understanding of Information Security Policy and Procedures how they fit within the IT architecture and infrastructure
  • Ability to lead or interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee, business partner, and/or supplier resources
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other senior leaders of IT on program strategies and plans and negotiate quality solutions
