Job title: BI Developer Location: Lansing, MI Duration: 12 Months Programmer Analyst 3 Description The person in this role will provide programming, data migration and reporting services to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) & Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) to track license related data and processes. This person will work with multiple LARA agencies. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish Project, Enhancement, and maintenance work. Must be able to work independently on complicated tasks, may lead and direct others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This person will provide support for the following Accela platform instances; but is not limited to Accela work.
- BPL/MI LARA (MiPLUS) instance.
- BCC/BFS/LARA Instance.
- MRA/MIMM Instance.
- CSCL/MiCLEAR instance
- MIOSHA/MIHS instance
- Support interfaces for above instances, including CEPAS and SIGMA.
- Analyze systems outlines to develop programs for computer applications, writing solution programs, documenting the methods and procedures used in program development, code reviews, and testing and correcting programs.
- Capture business requirements and document process for data migration covering details for extraction, cleansing, transformation logics.
- Design technical report specifications and create report standards.
- Develop a technical strategy for Data consolidation after data migration, validation of data in reports.
- Maintenance support to keep the systems running smoothly and configured appropriately to meet the business requirements of each agency.
- Write SQL queries to develop Crystal reports, SSRS, and Power BI dashboards for Licensed Professionals, Bureaus by leveraging the understanding of L2K and Accela's data model.
- Write, modify, and debug applications using java script. Develop event-based scripts, batch jobs, reports automation in Accela using JavaScript.
- Develop complex Crystal reports, SSRS reports, and Power BI dashboards with multiple queries, cross tabs, charts, sub reports, master detail reports, parameters, reporting linking, conditional formatting, sub reports. Implement report level security in Report Manager.
- Work with Power BI/Accela Insights dashboard, creating complicated dashboard presentations for executive management.
- Configure Crystal reports in Accela's Report Manager with required parameters.
- Work with report users and complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with support team to deploy the reports into PROD.
- Maintain inventory of all reports, source code in cloud-based Version management tools like Assembla.
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks and ability to make decisions independently as necessary.
- Create shell records in Accela for data conversion processes and Crystal report testing.
- Create SQL scripts to backup records created by users after every data conversion and reimport them in Oracle during subsequent data conversions.
- Debug issues in PL/SQL, T-SQL programs and fix data migration performance issues, data problems and/or suggest data corrections in L2K.
- Implement security for reports in Accela's Report Manager to ensure only designated user, groups access the reports.
- Maintenance support to several reports, configuration management, testing and other areas as needed.
- Technical Support to Business users to analyze, add, modify Crystal, SSRS, Adhoc, and Power BI reports in Accela.
- Provide technical support on Accela's Adhoc reporting tool and fine tune Crystal, SSRS, Adhoc, and Power BI reports for SQL performance issues and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Implement reporting best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes for consistency and tracking changes.
