Description We are in search of a Construction Biller to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and maintaining billing records and invoices in line with the AIA (American Institute of Architects) standards for our construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely billings, thus facilitating the necessary cash flows for the operations of the company. Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and issuance of invoices and progress billings for construction projects in accordance with contract terms and AIA guidelines. Review and validate project costs to ensure their alignment with AIA billing formats. Utilize construction software to create and update the Schedule of Values throughout the construction phases. Address and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues. Generate detailed financial summaries and reports for the project management and accounting teams. Coordinate with project managers, accountants, and clients to ensure billing accuracy and compliance. Support the accounts receivable process by applying payments and producing monthly receivable reports. Respond to customer inquiries related to invoicing and billing. Manage and maintain all billing documents in line with company procedures for future reference and audits.Requirements Proficient in Accounting Software Systems such as QuickBooks, Excel, and others relevant to the construction industry. Familiarity with AIA Billing, including preparing, reviewing, and submitting AIA documents. Basic understanding of the construction industry, including processes, materials, and safety standards. Knowledge in Construction Accounting, including the ability to track and manage project costs effectively. Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or similar construction management software. Ability to accurately process invoices, receipts, payrolls, etc., in compliance with financial policies and procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and construction staff. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in finance or similar field would be considered an advantage. Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
