Job Title: Container EngineerJob DescriptionA Packaging Engineer for Vehicle Programs is responsible for developing, validating, and implementing specialized containers that ship components and sub-assemblies into assembly plants. The work involves taking inputs from multiple stakeholders, understanding supply chain and manufacturing constraints to develop robust packaging solutions. The primary goal is to protect part quality while optimizing container density and logistics equipment to minimize enterprise costs. Responsibilities include developing packaging solutions, executing project management on multiple container designs and commodities, developing validation protocols, and ensuring high first-time quality. The engineer must prioritize workload, work independently, and be the technical expert for packaging at a commodity level. Expected skills include good communication, computer skills, 3D modeling and CAD software knowledge, and the ability to lead discussions and ask questions to identify critical constraints while controlling costs.Hard Skills

3D modeling and CAD software knowledge (UG-NX & TeamCenter experience)

Manufacturing and assembly processes

Material handling and manufacturing processes

Project management and organization skills

Cost/Benefit data analysis (Business Cases)

Red X/problem solving proficiency

Knowledge of vibration data acquisition and testing

ISTA or ASTM validation & testing protocols

Work EnvironmentThis position will be mainly a hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote). On campus, candidates will work in the Cole Engineering Center, which houses 4,000 employees. The group consists of approximately 60 engineers, broken down into 2-3 groups per part and vehicle line. This is a first-shift opportunity with a business casual dress code.
