LOCATION: Remote U.S. (home based)OVERVIEWThe Content Editor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Lippincott Nursing Center (LNC) and supports integration with CE Connection for Nursing and Allied Health, and other related web sites and digital products. The Content Editor - Digital is responsible for developing and maintaining the editorial and content for the sites.This position will be responsible for working with the Product Manager and clinical editors to build and optimize the editorial content on the sites, define business models and pricing strategies, reports, and opportunities related to direct revenue for Lippincott NursingCenter and CE Connection. This position will also be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the nursing practice and education market and its personas. Based on customer engagement to determine customer needs, this position will assist the Product Manager to create and run pilots, define new strategy and product ideas, put forth business cases, and explore relevant partnerships. This person will collaborate with the business intelligence team, technology team, and Product Owner to execute on validated ideas.We are looking for someone who is an experienced Content Editor in the digital space, strategic thinker, and is willing to move aggressively to drive growth from an editorial, content, and key performance indicator perspective. The ideal candidate is a digital editor whose expertise in website and content creation, analytics and reporting is matched by a passion for business development and strategy.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Content Editor’s primary responsibilities include:Editorial:Develop the editorial, and related content for LNC and CE Connection which includes:
Recruit authors to create content for LNC.
Copyedit, write/rewrite, and format content for online posting, as assigned, and keep content production and delivery on schedule.
Proo content for digital formats (emails, site content, advertising, etc.) including checking links for accuracy.
Arrange and edit photographs, clinical charts/graphics, and other artwork to support content.
Become adept with using the LNC and CE Connection content management systems.
Ensure content on websites are written with SEO/SEM strategies in mind and include various different formats and rich media such as podcasts and videos.
Coordinate with and assist freelancers in assigned writing and editing projects.
Juggle multiple deadlines in accordance with production schedules and editorial calendar.
Contribute to LNC and CE Connection product planning, design, and user interface discussions and decisions.
Work independently, taking initiative and ownership of digital publishing tasks with minimal supervision.
Communication/Customer Support:
Meet regularly with Product Manager, Chief Nurse, and clinical editors to discuss digital publishing schedule and prioritize workload as necessary.
Support communication with customers:
Provide second-tier (advanced level) customer support – triage from customer service representatives.
Support institutional accounts – user additions/deletions, set-up, reports, etc.
Work with the interdisciplinary team including advertising, marketing, design, etc.
Route permissions, finance requests, ad sales requests, and other requests as appropriate.
Marketing Support:
Assist in production of monthly e-newsletters and marketing emails to drive overall traffic with an emphasis on qualified traffic and subscriptions.
Maintain and regularly post to social media pages/feeds, such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs several times weekly, at minimum.
Assist in developing and maintaining SEO/SEM strategies.
New Product Development:
Work with the Product Manager and the Chief Nurse to develop the business strategy of LNC and CE Connection sites.
Help foster new product ideas and strategy development and submit them for analysis and testing to the Product Manager.
Work with the Product Manager to build a business case for new product ideas.
Contribute to the identification of key performance indicators and assist in monitoring to evaluate product function and success.
Assist in researching and brainstorming new product and content ideas.
Administration:
Create and maintain editorial calendars and schedules (newsletters, journal issues, CE, email campaigns, etc.).
Provide administrative support to Product Manager including expense tracking/reporting, meeting minutes, meeting scheduling and prep, process invoices, compile site/CE usage reports, special projects as requested.
Monitor website and e-newsletter analytics monthly.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation: College degree (BA/BS); or equivalent experienceRequired Experience:
2+ years’ experience in digital website management, digital content and editorial creation and management and website development; or related experience
Preferred Experience:
Strong presentation skills; both creating (in MS Power Point) and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences
Experience in the website management and nursing market
Experience with data analysis
Familiarity with the agile development process
