Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Controller in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. This role is within the finance industry and requires a high level of detail orientation and organization. As a Controller, your role will encompass a diverse range of tasks from invoice reviewing to month-end activities. Responsibilities: Conduct a thorough review and approval of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Handle month-end activities, including the preparation of reports for funding sources. Oversee the preparation and review of month-end financials. Prepare the Finance Committee reporting package, utilizing tools such as Sage Intacct and Excel. Assist in budget preparation and make necessary changes as they arise. Monitor and maintain accurate customer credit records. Process customer credit applications with efficiency and precision. Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Utilize skills in Sage Intacct, Month End Close, General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Variance Analysis, and Annual Budget to perform job functions effectively. Requirements Must possess expertise in Sage Intacct software Experience in carrying out Month End Close processes Proficiency in managing General Ledgers Skilled in Financial Reporting and able to produce accurate and timely reports Ability to conduct Variance Analysis and provide insights Experience in preparing and managing Annual Budgets Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Strong IT skills, particularly in finance software and MS Office Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
