Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in NOVI, Michigan. The Controller will take the lead in our accounting operations, including the preparation of consolidation entries and annual tax returns, reconciliation of intercompany balances, and working closely with external auditors. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the accounting department, offering strategic insights based on data analysis, and leading the Accounting team towards achieving its goals.Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation of consolidation entries for local consolidation and parent company. Conduct reconciliation of intercompany balances with parent company and affiliates. Assist in the filing of annual tax returns, use tax, and property tax returns. Collaborate with external auditors to prepare audit schedules, respond to audit requests, and review results. Prepare annual transfer pricing computations and manage requests from tax preparer. Respond to external surveys and reports such as government requests. Perform analytical review of monthly data and make recommendations to upper management. Provide information for budgeting and forecasts. Delegate tasks within the department and regularly review employee’s tasks to ensure an equal workload distribution. Lead the Accounting team by offering assistance as needed, hosting regular meetings to increase communication, and reviewing employee’s work for accuracy and efficiency. Oversee departmental functions such as payroll management, training, recruiting, safety, performance management, and other employee matters. Carry out month-end procedures, including general ledger account reconciliations, maintaining fixed asset records, and preparing Financial Statements and reporting packages. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for various tasks, ensuring accurate month-end close processes. Handle any additional duties as assigned by the management of the department. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Controller role within the manufacturing industry Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Extensive experience in Month End Close procedures Knowledge of Annual Tax preparations and processes Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work Proven leadership and team management abilities Familiarity with financial regulations and industry standards.
