Job DescriptionThis position provides advanced legal secretarial duties within the Public Administration Division, performing the most complex administrative legal secretarial activities, which may involve highly confidential and sensitive information, for the State Public Administrator. These activities include serving as a liaison with probate judges, court staff, county public administrators, and the public; reviewing, prioritizing, and preparing draft responses to a large volume of pleadings and correspondence, including conducting independent research to identify potentially escheated property or additional heirs; assisting with the appointment and oversight of county public administrators, including handling confidential personal information; compiling department reports; preparing legal documents and correspondence; docketing case files; scheduling meetings and hearings; and other tasks required to meet the department’s goals and objectives.
