Within the Power Solutions division in Farmington Hills, MI, BOSCH is improving the quality of life by leveraging our technology leadership and manufacturing scale to accelerate the clean energy transformation globally. BOSCH is “All in on Hydrogen”, which is a key piece of the puzzle to transform hard-to-decarbonize sectors of the economy, such as heavy-duty transportation, steel and cement production, chemical refineries, fertilizer production, rail, and marine. BOSCH is working to bring clean Hydrogen production to the North American market (and globally) together with our system integrator partners, with an initial focus on the heart of the electrolysis system, the Hydrogen Electrolyzer stack. These stationary devices produce hydrogen gas via an electrochemical conversion of water gas and electricity, with the only exhaust byproduct being oxygen gas and heat.As a Hydrogen PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) Electrolyzer Stack Testing Engineer Co-op, the ideal candidate would be part of a Industry/University team testing the BOSCH Electrolyzer Stack at the Kettering University Hydrogen and Fuel Cell lab. Majority of the activities will take place on campus, but regular on-site meetings and work on-site at BOSCH will be possible as well.Responsibilities: Support Electrolyzer system design, integrating a 5-cell Electrolyzer Stack into the Kettering lab systemPerform defined performance characterization and accelerated stress testing per aligned requirements on-site at KetteringConduct initial data analysis and reportsSupport BOSCH Stack Electrolyzer Engineering team, as needed, in various tasks including simulation, data analysis, problem solving, etc.Technology DomainsPEM Electrolysis StacksStationary applications for Hydrogen Production, incl. smaller containerized solutions and larger, customized plants
