We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Project Lead to manage a technically advanced software team in the development of embedded vehicle system software. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager, capable of planning, tracking, and managing progress of embedded software development projects related to military ground combat vehicles, reporting progress and making corrective actions based on project metrics and risks.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of defining software requirements, software design, implementation, and test activities
  • Develop and manage project schedules and milestones
  • Track and communicate progress in presentation form
  • Manage scope and ensure all quality aspects are being satisfactorily met according to the Project Plan

Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements
  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar engineering degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with Vehicle Electronics (Vetronics) Subsystem requirements and functional capabilities
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle models
  • Experience in developing project schedules, managing progress according to project metrics, managing risks, initiating and managing corrective actions and communicating status to both technical and managerial audiences
  • Familiarity with Software Processes consistent with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integrated) or similar models
  • Proficiency in Software Programming Languages such as C, C#, C, etc., build scripts, and software release processes for embedded real-time software work products
  • Familiarity with software architectures, software requirements, software designs, as well as concepts of modularity, commonality, and reuse
  • Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management and Data Management activities and processes
  • Familiarity with Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form
  • Ability to develop and present presentation-style statuses
