Electric vehicles are key to the future of transportation, and EVEMS data analysts ensure the successful implementation of our current and future products.Our ideal candidate will take ownership of analysis requests from our peer departments and take lead on working with the requesting engineers to scope the investigation, extract the connected vehicle data or other datasets required, and finally analyze and present the findings. Additionally, they will work together with other team members to develop web applications or tools to serve the EV product development engineering groups. This could include developing machine learning models for prognostics, right sizing components, or durability requirements; or developing automated analysis tools or descriptive analytical web applications. Someone who is curious and driven to uncover the truth with an appetite for learning would thrive in this position.Responsibilities:Analyze big data sets to extract customer usage information that can be used to design the next generation of Ford hybrid and electric vehicles
Develop tools and models to analyze real world customer data sets to assess on-road performance, and particularly achieve maximum value of energy management
Work hand in hand with EV engineering groups to identify and respond to their needs for connected vehicle data, analytical models or tools
Access connected vehicle data to identify emerging quality issues and support problem resolution
Analyze electrified powerpack operation for an optimal attribute, cost, and complexity balance
Work closely with other analytics groups to develop and share innovative tools and methodologies
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in science: Computer, Data Science, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or equivalent; or a Google Careers Certificate in Data Analytics
Experience manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data
Proven Python capabilities: minimum one implemented project
Experience using SQL, HiveQL, or BigQuery for data processing and extraction
Basic statistical knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:3+ years using Python for data analysis
Proficient in using Git
Experience working with web frameworks such as Flask or Angular
Experience in Google Cloud Platform services
Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques
Experience implementing Machine Learning algorithms or models
Experience in using Spark (PySpark preferred)
