The role will repair, install, and remove equipment at company facilities and will travel daily between company facilities on the assigned campus. The Facilities Maintenance Technician I will be mentored and supported by team members on work. This position is located in Livonia, MI.As a Facilities Maintenance Technician I,you will:
Provide facilities maintenance support such as plumbing, carpentry, door hardware, office furniture assemblies, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) routine inspections
Perform minor grounds keeping and equipment troubleshooting
Enter work order comments and timecards
Research repair methods with team members
To be considered as a Facilities Maintenance Technician I, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent level of education
Minimum six month’s facilities maintenance experience or equivalent in class instruction
Abilityto solve practical problems and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical and equipment malfunctions (such as a tire machine or vehicle hoist)
Basic skills in the use of power and hand tools
Basic power and hand tools required, with tool list to be provided upon hire
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measurement, including fractions
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer skills to enter information into a work order system and research repair methods as needed
Good driving record and reliable transportation
Ability to move and lift up to 75lbs.
A successful candidate may also have:
Experience in the use of a forklift and scissor lift
General maintenance experience
