Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Global Trade Management (GTM) Import CI Leader. This position will be based at any Eaton facility in the U.S. This position will require 10% travel.The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Position Overview:Function as a Global Trade Management (GTM) expert on imports and Customs processes for US import operations with emphasis on driving cost & compliance activities for an Eaton business Group/s. Develops and maintains thorough and current knowledge of international trade laws and regulations applicable to Eaton business activities. Contribute to development of, and ensure full deployment of, Corporate GTM import standards to all functions and Business Units within an Eaton GTM Group.This position will also take on development activities for critical import function – import procedure optimization through process improvement and process standardization of work. This position will foster a culture of process improvements through the LEAN ideologies and its supporting framework. This position will also create and maintain standards on GTM import processes and lead team members to develop, deploy and record GTM import training.This position will contribute to the development, implementation, and governance of international trade policies to ensure full compliance with US and international regulations regarding import of materials, goods, and technology.Job Responsibilities: Provide GTM US import governance to designated Eaton businesses as defined by GTM manager: Evaluate Eaton businesses operation’s compliance status with various regulatory bodies including Customs, and applicable tax authorities. Communicate trade compliance related policy, procedures, and economic issues that affect Group operations. Direct and standardize GTM import training, advice and guidance to other areas throughout the enterprise as necessary. Provide analytical and tactical support to implement import processes and procedures for Eaton businesses operations initiatives and projects. Engage with Eaton business operations on cost and compliance initiatives that affect GTM and where trade matters may impact strategy. Provide regular reports to Corporate GTM and Eaton businesses on the status of their GTM projects, current initiatives, and outstanding GTM matters. Maintain locations database for GTM Coordinators and related contacts in the GTM MLDB database for the Eaton businesses designated by GTM manager. Provide leadership to organizational Continuous Improvement (CI) process and standardization of work. Lead US Import CI projects: Develop and direct team’s process improvement methodologies and framework related to GTM imports. Lead and support US import CI initiatives to enhance business excellence across GTM functions: Identify, facilitate, and manage execution of improvement projects fulfilling key breakthrough objectives. Develop reporting and publish progress of CI and related projects. Own or provide leadership to others for projects from beginning to end - including discovery, data collection, development with feedback, implementation, and follow up. Lead development and maintenance of standard US import procedures; develop R-A-C-I standards and direct engagement of stakeholders for their roles/responsibilities in import processes. Provide leadership in creating and standardizing GTM import training material as needed by Eaton business functions.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution required Minimum 5 years trade management & trade regulations experience required. No relocation is being offered for this role, candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of an Eaton site to be considered. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.Preferred qualifications: Eaton product familiarity US Customs Broker’s license Program management experience 3-5 years.Skills:Position Criteria: Demonstrated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and cross-cultural awareness. Detail oriented, possessing good analytical skills; able to anticipate problems and diffuse situations. Self-motivated and able to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks. Ability to interpret government regulations and translate into strategic impact on company goals. Knowledge of audit and assessment procedures and evaluation of internal controls. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written word to Eaton business management, plant level, functional staffs, line level employees and government officials Demonstrated leadership, outstanding analytical and communication skills, team building, and internal/external customer focus to complete a multitude of interdisciplinary projects. Subject-matter expertise in relevant areas of trade compliance, including import/export regulations.
